Nicole V. Champeau est originaire de Cornwall, en Ontario. Le fleuve Saint-Laurent de sa
province natale demeure le lieu de poésie qui a rythmé les saisons de son enfance et de
son adolescence. Vers la fin des années soixante elle quittera cette ville afin de poursuivre
des études, d’abord à l’École Normale de l’Université d’Ottawa. Elle étudiera également en
littérature et en musique. Au fil des ans, elle enseignera, sera conseillère en apprentissage
et exercera la fonction de recherchiste au ministère du Patrimoine canadien.
